Challenge
To redesign the Product, Service and System offering of Too Good to Go to enable scaling it further into other verticals with renewed offerings.
Too Good To Go’s product are surplus goods - named "magic/surprise bags". They are sold in partnership with sellers including restaurants, supermarkets, bakeries and hotels.
Current market trends
Circular economy trends have increased consumers' awareness towards reducing and reusing waste.
Resources being globalised creates a larger availability of resources - further leading to a larger generation of waste.
Consumers have shifted towards supporting local businesses and conscious consumption.
With technology in health such as agentic ai, smart wearables and nutrition checkers, consumers are more conscious about their impact on a global scale.
Hyper-personalisation allows users to get exactly what they want with little effort.
Key insights
Users are chasing a respite from decision fatigue, value for money and speed and efficiency.
Within the current offering of Too Good to go, the major gap is the short timelines of pick-up which discourage users to use the app while juggling hectic work lives.
Revised service offering
Partnership with small businesses (MSME’s, e.g.mini markets) to offer pick up time flexibility (extra charge)
After identifying strategic areas of the city, followed by visits, Too Good to Go would onboard these mini markets - known to be open much later in the night while also having a need for increased visibility.
Parcels which have opted for the late pickup feature will be able to collect their packages from the closest mini market at the time if their convenience before their closing time.

Each user will also get 'Rescue Recaps' highlighting their contributions towards saving the planet!
